- Temple History The temple houses a miraculous Narmadeshwar Shiva Lingam, discovered on the banks of the Narmada River through the grace of Lord Shiva and gifted to Sri Purushottam Bhai. This sacred Shivalinga naturally bears the divine marks of Lord Shiva, including the Nabhi (navel), Yajnopaveetam, Rudraksha mala, Trinetram (third eye), and Gangadhara form. Devotees seeking blessings or fulfillment of wishes may perform Rudrabhishekam, which can be arranged through the temple priest. Kamaldham Mandir, widely known as the Lotus Temple of Hyderabad, is located within the Sri Swaminarayan Gurukul campus on the Chilkur–Chevella highway near Himayath Nagar junction, about 21 km from Nampally and around 3 km before Chilkur Balaji Temple. The temple derives its name from its striking lotus-inspired architecture—a circular white mandir resting on a large pink lotus base built over water, surrounded by serene gardens and walkways. 🚌By Road: Kamaldham is located on the Moinabad–Chevella–Chilkur highway near Himayath Sagar. It can be reached easily by car, cab, or bus, with TSRTC buses stopping near Swaminarayan Gurukul.
🚆By Rail: The nearest major railway stations are Hyderabad Deccan (Nampally) and Kacheguda. From either station, take a cab or bus towards Chilkur/Moinabad and get down at the Gurukul/Kamaldham stop.
✈️By Air: The nearest airport is Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, about 30–35 km away. Taxis via ORR towards APPA Junction provide easy access to the temple.
