- Temple History Located in the peaceful village of Manchirevula, close to the Outer Ring Road and about 13 km from Mehdipatnam, Sri Venugopala Devalayam is one of the ancient temples of Hyderabad, dating back to the Chalukya period. Nestled amidst serene surroundings, the temple offers a calm and spiritually uplifting atmosphere for devotees and visitors alike. The temple complex features a large, well-cemented open area in front, providing ample space for vehicle parking. Just across the road, on the right-hand side, stands a small shrine of Sri Nageswara Swamy, represented by a sacred Shivlinga sheltered under a serpent hood, adding to the spiritual significance of the location. Upon entering the temple, devotees are greeted by the Dwajasthambam, followed by separate shrines dedicated to Sri Anjaneya Swamy and Sri Garudalwar. The main sanctum sanctorum houses Lord Sri Venugopala Swamy, accompanied by Goddess Rukmini, Goddess Bhama, and Goddess Andal, beautifully enshrined together. A spacious prakaram surrounds the sanctum, inviting devotees to sit peacefully, meditate, and immerse themselves in devotion. The temple remains generally uncrowded, except during festival days, allowing for a relaxed and intimate darshan experience. The temple priest performs the poojas with deep devotion and is known for his warm and welcoming nature.
