- Temple History Sree Balagnana DhandayudhaPaani swamy Temple is situated on Sri Padmagiri hill, where it is shaped like lotus in the Thanapalli village in the district of Tirupathi. And this is one of the famous temple located near by Tirupati within radius of 5 km. At the inception the temple was consecrated and constructed by Sri.la.Sri Ganapathi Swamy in 1979. What sets this temple apart is its unique idol portraying the Subramanya swamy in the form of a Brahmachari avatar. And This is the only temple in Andhrapradesh where lord Subramanya swamy standing on shatkona yantra peetam as Sree Balagnana Dhandayudhapaani Swamy.’’ Devotees firmly believe that offering prayers to this deity can bring remedies to various life challenges, including those related to marriage, offspring, health and wealth. Temple Establishment: “Temple legends says that, Many years ago when Sri Ganapathi swamy(founder of the temple) is in the age of 15 years, he used to serve Lord Parasareshwara swamy. One day he dreamt of Lord Subramanyam Swamy atop the hill in this village. Then the next day he came here, by hearing the Subrahmanya swamy mantra from the small cave, he did a ardous tappas for some years and earned blessings of lord Subrahmanya swamy. Then he named this hill as Sree Padmagiri and he established Guhaanandhapeetam in this place and he performed prayers to lord Subramanya swamy in the form of yantra for some years. In 1979, Ganapathi swamy utilizing his own earnings, he consecrated the idol of Sri Balagnana Dhandayudhapaani Swamy and established in the temple. From the day of commencement, only under the hereditary of Sri.la.Sri Ganapathi swamy will be overseeing the performance of swamy kainkaryams. Consequently in the year of 2006 Sri Ganapathi swamy imparted the sacred mantra to his son Sri.La.Sri.Shanmugha swamy and entrusted him with lord Subrahmanya swamy yantra. More than vedic rituals perfomed to propitiate the god, emphasis is laid on spiritual elevation for Subramanya upasana adopted by the Sri Ganapathi swamy .
