- Temple History It is said that Vyasaraya, the spiritual guru of Sri Krishnadevaraya, simultaneously consecrated idols of Lord Anjaneya in three villages: Kasapuram, Nemakallu, and Mooradi. Visiting the shrines of Lord Anjaneya in these three villages—Kasapuram, Nemakallu, and Mooradi—on a Saturday during the holy month of Shravana is believed to yield exceptionally auspicious results. Consequently, every year on Saturdays during the month of Shravana, the Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) operates special bus services from Guntakal to facilitate this pilgrimage. Alternatively, many pilgrims visit the Lord at these three shrines using their own private vehicles or auto-rickshaws. Let us now explore the details of Kasapuram, one of these significant pilgrimage sites. The Nettikanti Anjaneya Swamy Temple is located in the village of Kasapuram, situated within the town of Guntakal in the Anantapur district. In Kannada, the word *Nette* means "direct" or "straight." Thus, *Nettikanti* translates to "one who possesses an eye that looks directly ahead." At Kasapuram, only the right profile of the Lord is visible to devotees; consequently, only His right eye is perceptible. Because this eye appears to be gazing straight ahead, every devotee feels as though the Lord is looking directly at them personally. Since He is the Lord who looks straight ahead, He is revered as "Nettikanti Anjaneya Swamy." To His devotees, He serves as the "Kalpataru" (the wish-fulfilling divine tree) and the "Varapradata" (the bestower of boons). Visited by thousands of devotees daily, this temple has gained renown as a sacred site for the alleviation of afflictions caused by spirits, ghosts, and malevolent planetary influences. Devotees arrive in large numbers to seek the Lord's blessings—not only from the Telugu-speaking states but also from the neighboring state of Karnataka. This temple is the largest among all the Hanuman temples located in the state of Andhra Pradesh. During the era of the Vijayanagara Empire, in 1521 AD, Sri Vyasaraya used to meditate on the banks of the Tungabhadra River. Vyasaraya was an artist. Every day, using the sandalwood paste he wore, he would depict the form of Sri Anjaneya Swamy on a rock situated right in front of him. It is said that on every such occasion, Hanuman would assume his true form and depart from that spot. Observing this, and wishing to prevent Hanuman's divine energy from drifting away, Vyasaraya created a *Yantra* (a mystical diagram) inscribed with the *Bija Mantras* (seed syllables) of the Lord's twelve sacred names, and within it, he depicted the true form of Sri Anjaneya Swamy. Consequently, the Lord became bound within that *Yantra* and remained enshrined therein. One day, while Vyasaraya was sleeping at the Sri Bhogeswara Swamy temple—located in the present-day Chippagiri Mandal of Kurnool district—Lord Anjaneya appeared to him in a dream. The Lord said, "I reside in a specific region; build a temple for me there." When Vyasaraya requested guidance regarding the exact location of that region, the Lord graciously instructed him thus: "If you proceed towards the south, you will come across a withered neem tree. As you approach it, it will sprout fresh leaves; I reside within the earth at that very spot." The following morning, rising at dawn, Vyasaraya journeyed southward and eventually discovered the withered neem tree. The moment Vyasaraya reached the tree, it burst forth with fresh foliage. Astonished by this miracle, Vyasaraya immediately gave orders to excavate the earth at that site. During excavations, a unique idol of Lord Anjaneya—depicting him with a single eye—was discovered. King Rayala, with profound devotion and reverence, consecrated this idol and subsequently constructed a temple for it. Every year, a cobbler observes a strict regimen of consuming only one meal a day and maintaining celibacy while crafting a pair of sandals for Lord Anjaneya, which he then offers to the deity. Remarkably, when he returns the following day to inspect them, the sandals appear worn out and tattered. Devotees firmly believe that the Lord dons these sandals to venture out on his nightly rounds. Seeking the Lord's divine grace, countless devotees visit the temple every year on Saturdays during the months of Vaisakha, Sravana, Karthika, and Magha to pray for the fulfillment of their heart's desires. Annually, at the Nettikanti Anjaneya Swamy Temple, thousands of devotees clad in saffron robes undertake the *Hanumad Deeksha* (a spiritual vow dedicated to Lord Hanuman). The temple is also renowned as a prominent center for the observance of *Hanumad Vratams* (religious vows) and various worship rituals. Ample *satrams* (pilgrim rest houses) and cottages are available on the premises to provide accommodation for visiting devotees. శ్రీకృష్ణదేవరాయల గురువైన వ్యాసరాయలవారు ఏకకాలంలో కసాపురం, నేమకల్లు, మూరడి అనే మూడు ఊళ్లల్లో ఏకకాలంలో ఆంజనేయ విగ్రహాలను ప్రతిష్ఠించారని చెబుతారు. కసాపురం, నేమకల్లు, మూరడి అనే ఈ మూడు ఊళ్ళల్లోని ఆంజనేయస్వామివార్లను శ్రావణమాసం శనివారం రోజున దర్శించుకోవడం అత్యంత విశేషఫలప్రదం అని చెబుతారు. ఇందుకోసం ప్రతి సంవత్సరం శ్రావణమాసం శనివారం రోజున ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్ రోడ్డు రవాణా సంస్థ (APSRTC) ప్రత్యేక బస్సు సర్వీసులను కూడా గుంతకల్లు నుండి నడుపుతారు. లేదా స్వంత వాహనాల్లో గానీ, ఆటోల్లో గానీ కూడా అనేకమంది యాత్రికులు ఈమూడు క్షేత్రాలలోని స్వామివారిని దర్శించుకొంటూ ఉంటారు. ఆ క్షేత్రాల్లో ఒకటైన కసాపురం వివరాలను తెలుసుకొందాం. నెట్టి కంటి ఆంజనేయస్వామి దేవాలయం, అనంతపురం జిల్లాలోని గుంతకల్లు పట్టణంలోని కసాపురం అనే గ్రామంలో ఉంది. కన్నడంలో నెట్టె అంటే నేరుగా అనిఅర్థం. నెట్టెకంటి అంటే నేరుగా చూచే కన్ను కలిగిన అని అర్థం. ఈ కసాపురంలో స్వామి వారి కుడివైపు ప్రొఫైల్ మాత్రమే మనకు దర్శనమిస్తుంది. కనుక కుడి కన్ను మాత్రమే మనకు కనిపిస్తుంది. అది నేరుగా చూస్తున్నట్లు ఉండటం వల్ల స్వామి తననే చూస్తున్నట్లు ప్రతివారికీ అనిపిస్తుంది. నేరుగా చూసే స్వామి కనుక నెట్టెకంటి ఆంజనేయస్వామి అని అంటారు.భక్తులకు ఈయనే "కల్పతరువు", "వరప్రదాత". ప్రతిరోజు వేలాది మంది దర్శించుకునే ఈ ఆలయం భూత, ప్రేత, దుష్ట గ్రహపీడ నివారణ క్షేత్రంగా ఖ్యాతికెక్కింది. స్వామిని దర్శించుకోవడానికి తెలుగు రాష్ట్ర ప్రజలే కాదు, పక్క రాష్ట్రమైన కర్నాటక నుండి కూడా అధిక సంఖ్యలో వస్తుంటారు. ఈ ఆలయం ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్ లో రాష్ట్రంలో ఉన్న హనుమాన్ ఆలయాలన్నింటిలోకీ పెద్దది. విజయనగర సామ్రాజ్య కాలంలో సా.శ.1521 లో శ్రీ వ్యాసరాయలవారు తుంగభద్ర నది ఒడ్డున ధ్యానం చేసేవాడు. వ్యాసరాయలవారు చిత్రకారుడు. ప్రతిరోజు తాను ధరించే గంధంతో ఎదురుగా ఉన్న ఒక రాయి మీద శ్రీ ఆంజనేయ స్వామి రూపం చిత్రించేవాడు. అలా చిత్రించిన ప్రతిసారి హనుమంతుడు నిజరూపం ధరించి అక్కడి నుంచి వెళ్ళిపోయేవాడట. ఇది గమనించిన వ్యాస రాయలవారు హనుమంతుని శక్తిని వేరోకచోటికి వెళ్ళనీయకుండా, స్వామివారి ద్వాదశ నామాల బీజాక్షరాలతో ఒక యంత్రం తయారు చేసి, దానిలో శ్రీ ఆంజనేయ స్వామి వారి నిజరూపాన్ని చిత్రించారట. దాంతో స్వామి ఆ యంత్రంలో బంధింపబడి అందులో ఉండిపోయారట. ఇప్పటి కర్నూలు జిల్లాలో ఉన్న చిప్పగిరి మండలంలో ఉన్న శ్రీ భోగేశ్వర స్వామి వారి ఆలయంలో ఒకరోజు వ్యాసరాయలు నిద్రిస్తుండగా ఆంజనేయస్వామి కలలో వచ్చి, "నేను ఫలానా ప్రాంతంలో ఉన్నాను, నాకు గుడి కట్టించు" అని చెప్పాడట. ఆ ప్రాంతం ఎక్కడుందో ఉపదేశించమని వ్యాస రాయలు కోరగా స్వామి వారు ఈ విధంగా అనుగ్రహించాడు -"దక్షిణం వైపున వెళితే ఒక ఎండిన ఒక వేప చెట్టు కనిపిస్తుంది, దానికి దగ్గరగా వెళితే ఆది చిగురిస్తుంది, అక్కడ భూమిలో తాను ఉంటాను". మరునాడు ఉదయాన్నే లేచి దక్షిణం వైపు ప్రయాణం గావించి చివరకు ఆ ఎండిన వేపచెట్టును కనుగొంటాడు వ్యాస రాయలు. రాయలు ఆ చెట్టు వద్దకు చేరుకోగానే, ఆ చెట్టు చిగురిస్తుంది. ఆశ్చర్యచకితుడైన వ్యాసరాయలు వెంటనే అక్కడ భూమిని తవ్విస్తాడు. తవ్వకాల్లో ఒంటి కన్ను గల ఆంజనేయస్వామి వారి విగ్రహం కనిపిస్తుంది. రాయలవారు ఆ విగ్రహాన్ని అత్యంత భక్తి శ్రద్ధలతో ప్రతిష్ఠించి, ఆలయాన్ని నిర్మిస్తాడు. ప్రతి ఏడాది ఒక చర్మకారుడు ఏక భుక్తం ఉంటూ, బ్రహ్మచర్యాన్ని పాటిస్తూ ఆంజనేయ స్వామికి చెప్పుల జత తయారు చేసి సమర్పిస్తాడు. మర్నాడు వచ్చి చూస్తే అది అరిగిపోయినట్లు, చిరిగిపోయినట్లు కనిపించటం విశేషం. స్వామి ఆ చెప్పులు ధరించి రాత్రి పూట విహారానికి వెళ్ళి వస్తూంటాడని భక్తుల నమ్మకం. స్వామి వారి అనుగ్రహం ప్రతి ఏటా వైశాఖ, శ్రావణ, కార్తీక, మాఘ మాసాలలో శనివారం నాడు అసంఖ్యాకంగా భక్తులు స్వామిని సందర్శించి తమ మనోభీష్టాలను నెరవేర్చుకుంటారు. ఏటా, నెట్టికంటి ఆంజనేయస్వామి ఆలయంలో వేలాది మంది భక్తులు కాషాయ వస్త్రాలు ధరించి హనుమద్దీక్షలు తీసుకుంటారు. హనుమద్ వ్రతానికి, పూజలకు కూడా ఈ ఆలయం ప్రసిద్ధి. ఇందులో బస చేయడానికి తగినన్ని సత్రాలు, కాటేజీలు అందుబాటులో ఉన్నాయి.
