- Temple History Yadagirigutta, now popularly known as Yadadri, is a sacred hill town located in the Nalgonda district of Telangana, about 60 km from Hyderabad. The origin of Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple dates back to the Treta Yuga, when a great sage named Yadarishi, the son of Rishyasrunga and Santa Devi, performed intense penance inside a cave on this hill with the blessings of Lord Anjaneya (Hanuman). Pleased with his devotion, Lord Narasimha, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu, appeared before him in five divine forms—Sri Jwala Narasimha, Sri Yogananda Narasimha, Sri Gandabherunda Narasimha, Sri Ugra Narasimha, and Sri Lakshmi Narasimha. These five forms, collectively worshipped as Pancha Narasimha Kshetram, are believed to have manifested within the cave and continue to be revered by devotees even today. According to legends and references found in the Skanda Purana, this temple holds immense spiritual significance. A prominent feature of the temple is the golden Sudarshana Chakra placed atop the sanctum (Garbha Griha), which is visible from nearly 6 kilometers away. It is believed that in ancient times, the chakra acted like a divine compass, guiding devotees towards the temple, and even today, it is considered to possess mystical powers. Another legend states that Lord Vishnu, pleased with Yadarishi’s penance, directed Lord Anjaneya to guide him to a sacred spot at the foothills of Yadagiri, where the Lord appeared as Sri Lakshmi Narasimha. After attaining moksha, Yadarishi’s story spread, and many tribal devotees began worshipping the Lord. However, due to improper rituals, the Lord moved into the hills. After many years of search, He appeared in the dream of a devout tribal woman and revealed His presence in a cave as five majestic forms. Temple rituals and worship are performed according to the Pancharatra Agama tradition. The puja procedures were systematized by Sri Vangeepuram Narasimhacharyulu, who also composed devotional works such as Yadagiri Suprabhatam, Prapatti, Stotram, and Mangalashasanam, and served as the temple’s Sthanacharya. The temple is also associated with historical significance. In 1148 AD, King Tribhuvana Malla is believed to have visited the temple after his victory in Telangana and established a fort at Bhongir. Later, in the 15th century, the Vijayanagara emperor Sri Krishnadevaraya visited the temple, prayed for victory in his campaigns, and is believed to have been blessed with a son by Lord Narasimha. Yadagirigutta is also revered as a place of healing, where Lord Narasimha is worshipped as “Vaidya Narasimha,” believed to cure chronic diseases and protect devotees from negative influences. Many devotees perform a 40-day (mandala) pradakshina to seek relief from ailments and believe that the Lord appears in dreams to bless and heal them. Today, the temple stands as one of the most important pilgrimage centers in Telangana, attracting thousands of devotees daily. 🌹Annual Brahmotsavam: The most grand celebration, held in the month of Phalguna (February–March). It lasts for 11 days and features the Tirukalyanam (divine wedding) and Rathotsavam (chariot festival).
🌹Narasimha Jayanti: Celebrated in May (Vaisakha month), marking the appearance of Lord Narasimha.
🌹Vaikuntha Ekadashi: Usually in December/January, where devotees pass through the "Vaikuntha Dwaram."
🌹Swathi Nakshatram: Lord Narasimha’s birth star. Every month on this day, special Shataghatabhishekam is performed (around 4:30 AM).

🚌By Road : A scenic 1.5-hour drive from Hyderabad via the Warangal Highway (NH163). TSRTC operates frequent "Yadadri" special buses from Jubilee Bus Station (JBS) and MGBS.
🚉By Rail : The nearest station is Raigir (now Yadadri) Railway Station, located about 5 km from the hill. Auto-rickshaws and local buses are available from the station to the hilltop.
🛩️By Air : Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (HYD) is about 90–100 km away. You can take a taxi directly via the Outer Ring Road (ORR) for a faster journey (~2 hours).
