- Temple History According to local elders, villagers and temple administrators, it is said that in the battle between King Prola-II and the King of Mantrakuta Gunda, the King of Mantrakuta Gunda, who was defeated, was chased away from the battlefield by King Prola, while two generals of the Kakatiya army, namely Seelappanayudu and Siddappanayudu, led the way and gave victory to the Gunda king. As a symbol of the said victory, two Shiva temples, Sri Seelaswara and Sri Siddeshwara, were built by the generals at Mantrakuta. At the same time, a tank named Seelasamudram was also built. These two temples were renovated during 1942/1943 by Sri Loke Pedda Ramanna, commonly known as Sri Ramanandendra Saraswati Swami (1901-1984), whose family members are committed to the preservation of the temple till date.స్థానిక పెద్దలు, గ్రామవాసులు మరియు ఆలయ నిర్వాహకుల ప్రకారం.. రాజు ప్రోల -2 కు మంత్రకూట గుండ రాజుకు మధ్య జరిగిన యుద్ధంలో ఓడిపోయిన మంత్రకూట గుండ రాజు యుద్ధ క్షేత్రం నుండి వెనుతిరగగ ప్రొల రాజు వెంబడించాడని, కాగా కాకతీయ సైన్యానికి చెందిన ఇద్దరు సైన్యాధిపతులు, అనగా శీలప్పనాయుడు మరియు సిద్దప్పనాయుడు నాయకత్వం వహించి గుండ రాజుకు విజయం చేకుర్చారని చెబుతారు. చెప్పబడిన విజయం యొక్క గుర్తుగా రెండు శివాలయాలు, శ్రీ శీలేశ్వర మరియు శ్రీ సిద్దేశ్వరాలను మంత్రకూటలో సైన్యాధ్యక్షులు నిర్మించారు. అదే సమయంలో శీలసముద్రం పేరుతో ఒక చెరువు కూడా నిర్మించబడింది. ఈ రెండు దేవాలయాలు 1942/1943 సమయంలో సాధారణంగా శ్రీ రామానందేంద్ర సరస్వతి స్వామి (1901-1984) అని పిలువబడే శ్రీ లోకే పెద్ద రామన్నచే పునరుద్ధరించబడ్డాయి, ఇప్పటికి వారి కుటుంబ సభ్యులు ఆలయ పరిరక్షణకు కట్టుబడి ఉన్నారు
