- Temple History Meher Baba the Avatar of this Age, started important phase of His Universal Work called 'MANONASH' here in this Cave during the period 16° Oct 1951 to 24 Oct 1951, observing seclusion. Hence the Cave is known as 'Manonash Cave' throughout the world. Because of His Love for His creation, the Formless God, the Father of all in creation takes a form and descends into this world once in every age (yug). The same Ancient One has now come amidst us as Meher Baba, Sai Baba of Shirdi, Upasni Maharaj of Sakori, Narayan Maharaj of Khedgoan, Tajuddin Baba of Nagpur and Hazrat Babajan of Pune - the five perfect Masters of that time proclaimed and declared that Meher Baba is the Avatar of this Age. Meher Baba was born on 25th Feb 1894 and dropped his body on 31 January 1969. His divine Samadhi is in Meherabad village near Ahmednagar in Maharastra State. Meher Baba observed silence for 44 years, toured 13 times throughout the world, embraced the lovers and aspirants, washed the feet of Poor, Lepers, Masts, fed them, bathed them, gave new clothes along with His Divine Gift of Love. Mind is the store house of Sanskaras (Impressions of all actions) and it is responsible for creation of bindings and their annihilation. Because of it, man is caught in the Cycles of Births and Deaths to experience dual aspects of pleasure and pain, honor and disgrace. Under its influence, the infinite soul (Atma) feels itself limited and bound to illusion. The mind exists as long as the Sanskaras exist. The mind is annihilated when all the Sanskaras are totally wiped out. The individual soul then breaks all illusory limitations and bindings and realizes its true-self, i.e., "God-hood" All yogas and spiritual austerities are meant to achieve this goal. But man cannot succeed in his effort for total annihilation of mind without the grace of a Perfect Master (Sadguru) or Avatar. Therefore, Meher Baba, The Soul of all Souls, The Avatar assuming the role of an aspirant accomplished the task of 'Manonash' as part of His Universal Work by Observing Seclusion in this Cave from 16 Oct' 1951 to 24h Oct'1951. All will be benefited as a result of His work of Manonash.
