- Temple History Sri Shani Bhagawan Devalayam, popularly known as the Shani Shingnapur Temple of Hyderabad, is one of the most powerful and spiritually significant Shani temples located right in the heart of the city. This temple holds a unique and sacred connection with the self-manifested Shani Shingnapur Temple in Maharashtra, which is considered the most important Shani shrine in India. The uniqueness of this temple lies in its spiritual origin. The holy soil collected from the river that flows at the feet of Lord Shani in Shani Shingnapur, Maharashtra, was brought to Hyderabad, and the Shani idol here was consecrated with the sankalpam that the same divine energy present in Shani Shingnapur should manifest at this temple as well. Adding to its authenticity, the stone idol of Lord Shani installed here was also brought from Shani Shingnapur, and the priests performing daily rituals belong to the original Shani Shingnapur temple. Special and powerful pujas are performed on Shani Jayanti and Shani Trayodashi, attracting thousands of devotees. People suffering from Sade Sati (seven-and-a-half years of Saturn’s influence) and Ardha Ashtama Shani visit this temple to seek relief from astrological afflictions.
