- Temple History Maddi Anjaneya Swamy Temple is believed to be a 500+ year-old ancient temple where Lord Hanuman appeared naturally beneath a sacred Maddi (Ficus) tree. According to legend, a shepherd first sensed a divine presence at the site and noticed unusual vibrations around the tree. When the villagers gathered and cleared the area, they discovered a swayambhu (self-manifested) form of Lord Hanuman embedded in the tree and nearby rocks. Over time, the place became a powerful spiritual center known for fulfilling the wishes of devotees. People visit to seek protection, strength, health, and relief from obstacles. Praying under the Maddi tree and tying sacred threads for wish-fulfillment is a long-standing tradition.
